Hi, my name’s Philip Jones – but my friends call me Phil – and I live and work in Hong Kong.
About a year ago, and being the wrong side of fifty, I decided it was time to indulge my desire to write something (a common desire of people my age) before I shuffled off this mortal coil; so now I’m a part-time freelance writer, dreaming of becoming full-time.
Generally, Hong Kong is seen as a city where you can “shop till you drop”, full of expensive restaurants and five-star hotels. A city overflowing with people, cars, noise and smells – some good, some bad. A city packed with banks, businesses, trading and money. A city that never stops, never sleeps.
While all that is true, it’s not the complete picture.
This blog is an attempt to improve people’s knowledge and perception of Hong Kong. It’s also a collection of my personal views and opinions of this city – some good, some bad.
I welcome constructive comments.
